Searching for freelance copywriters in China?
’Freelance copywriters China’: if you just did that search on Google, it’s likely that you need an English-language copywriter in China.
But I just did that ‘freelance copywriters China’ search myself and it’s a little disappointing. The freelance copywriters market in China seems to consist of a few British expatriates and some Chinese nationals with good English. Using those Chinese nationals might be fine for some jobs, but they might not fully understand idiom and culture like an English copywriter will.
So, with a Google search for freelance copywriters in China being unproductive, it might be time to find your English-language freelance copywriter in England.
Freelance copywriter — not in China
Hello. I’m Nigel and I’m a freelance copywriter who’s not in China. I’m based near Manchester in England.
English is the language of business, particularly for a country with a booming export market like China, and who better to write your English-language copy than a reputable English freelance copywriter?
In the age of the Internet, there’s no reason why you should look for freelance copywriters who are based in China. Copywriting projects work out fine, thanks to Skype, the phone and email. Your freelance copywriter could be based in China, Chicago or Chingford.
I’ve run my freelance copywriting business since 2003, handling almost 1500 copywriting projects, some of which have been in China. They worked out well and I had no need to be present in the client’s offices in Beijing or Shanghai.
So, restricting yourself to freelance copywriters based in China could damage your project. After all, how many China copywriters have worked with Hitachi, Siemens and Honda, as I have? How many China copywriters have been approved by fruit-drinks giant Innocent Drinks?
